alive and well....

...just not hooking! I've been having some problems with my shoulder - on and off for the last year or two, but it's gotten worse in the last few weeks. I tried to adhere to my mum's problem solving philosophy of "ignore it and hope that it goes away" with limited success. I finally gave in and booked a doctor's appointment and I started physio on Monday for my rotator cuff. I'll be going three times a week for the first couple of weeks, and don't really want to jinx it by engaging in a hooking marathon at the same time (since it seemed to get worse right around the same time that I was hooking consistently on my landscape...hmmm....).

So what have I been doing instead? Camping, swimming, knitting, reading, and watching movies. Oh, and since I've temporarily tidied up my hooking stuff...I've been enjoying living in a tidier space ;-)

I'll be back again real soon with photos. Hope you're enjoying summer wherever you are....

Day 8

Progress continues....and I am pleased with how things are shaping up - especially since this is really the first piece I have hooked in this style. Everytime I look at it, I am filled with ideas and possibilities for future work. It's a great feeling...

Obviously at least one light green #4 strip will have to come out and be replaced with something stronger...and I am keen to see what will happen on the right side.

It's amazing how much has been accomplished in only 8 days of hooking. Granted, some of those days were pretty full ones...but all the same, it's pretty speedy progress.

Enlarging Patterns

...just in case you don't read any of the comments, Liz left a great one a few posts back...
I have used Cindi Gay's instructions for enlarging a pattern at home. Instructions look complicated but work very well with software you have in any windows program. I have included the link to her site. Hope this will be of some use to you.

Thanks Liz! ;-)
