Instead, I made a last-minute dash to the mall to sift through the already-seriously-picked-over Hallmark cards. Hopefully this idea of mine (which I've had for a few years now) will actually come to fruition next year.....but in the meantime, you're welcome to borrow it for your own cards.
Here's the basic how-to....Line up your wool strips (and stump and star), sew down the centre and then both the right and left sides to make a 'tree'. Trim off any excess wool from each strip. I didn't use tape or glue - just held the wool in place with my fingers while I sewed.
